Video: Crash course on how to make cocktails with Cointreau

Be on your way to becoming the hostess with the mostess by learning how to concoct the most delicious of drinks at your next party.

After a slew of smashing parties in the last few days of 2014, the one thing that inched its way to the top of our resolutions for the new year was to pledge ourselves to finally master the art of cocktail making. Yes, yes, some say that’s a piece of cake – it’s just mixing alcohol they lament – but to the unfamiliar, there’s a whole lot more that goes into concocting the perfect drink for your guests.

Now to become the hostess with the mostess in 2015, we’ve teamed up with the delectable orange-flavoured liquor, Cointreau and Kino Soh, bartender at Hopscotch, to learn a few tricks behind the bar.

For the uninformed, Kino was amongst Drinks World Asia’s 2014 Top 25 Bartenders in Singapore so you know your drinks are in good hands. Being a female bartender didn’t stop her from coming up tops in a largely male-dominated space and fortunately, according to her, she hasn’t faced discrimination for her gender so far.

From shaking, stirring, to jiggers and knowing your citruses, here’s a quick crash course on sprucing up your drinks menu for the next ladies night. After this, there’s no need to head to bars for your weekly alcohol intake.
