The duty of memory, one of the key phrases of the time, does not just concern people, wars and massacres, but also nestles in the hearts of human interest stories of the American heartlands. For Lilly Rush and her inspectors, there is no indefeasible crime. The lost causes will, in time, be rediscovered.
In exhuming the unexplained cases dating back to the Ku Klux Klan, the blonde finds justice for all the victims, and brings to justice all the perpetrators still at large.
