With the recent rave reviews and wildly successful opening of Black Panther (truly a watershed moment in cinema), there is certainly much to celebrate about movies - particularly, Hollywood's progress towards diversity. Which is why we're a little more excited than usual about this year's Oscars.

Over the weekend, your favourite screen sirens brought out their best looks for the 90th Academy Awards. We saw everything from old school Hollywood inspiration (i.e. Nicole Kidman's crimson classic red lip and Laura Dern's and Allison William's deep, sideparts) to that modern red carpet-worthy glow (i.e. on the beautiful Lupita Nyong'o). Natural hair was also a common theme, with the likes of the regal Janet Mock and Viola Davis embracing their beautiful curls; and conversely, the sleek, straight bob also proved to be an Oscars' red carpet favourite.
