Whether you have an hour to prep for that romantic date or just 10 minutes, we rounded up the ultimate beauty tips that will have you looking put together with the blink of an eye.

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, and because you’ve spent weeks picking out the perfect dress, there seems to be no time left for the beauty look. However there’s no need for a mid-week meltdown, because we’ve got the tricks to perfecting a head-turning makeup look that can be done in a matter of minutes.

Perfect your complexion

Uh-oh, you’ve woken up, it’s Valentine’s Day and you notice that a huge pimple has made its way onto your face overnight – what to do? Well, firstly, fret not because there’s a solution for every beauty emergency.

Before you do anything, apply a clearing face mask first thing in the morning – we love GlamGlow’s SuperMud Clearing Treatment. To cancel out the redness, say no to scrubs and yes to nourishing ingredients such as aloe vera and cucumber, both of which can be directly applied to the face.

If you don’t have the time to sit down and apply skincare products, use a green corrective concealer to cancel out redness and hide the blemish. Apply it before foundation and your date will never know.

A smouldering stare

You don’t need two to three eyeshadows in order to create a seductive makeup look – all you need is one go-to shade. To brighten your complexion simply use a champagne shade that is one to two hues lighter than your natural skin tone.

If you need something that is more dramatic, opt for a cream eyeshadow in a marine blue or deep gray shade. Sweep it across your lid and blend the edges out. You’ll instantly look like you actually put time into your eyeshadow – when really, there was no thought needed.

A kissable pout

When in doubt, we have our favourite red lipstick that is easy to apply and with a few tricks, will last all night long. If you are worried about smudging and dry spots, follow these simple steps that will ensure luscious lips throughout your date.

1. Line your lips and fill them in with a cherry red lip liner

2. Apply one coat of lipstick

3. Place one sheet of tissue paper on your lips and smack them together for a blotting effect.

4. With the tissue paper still in place, simply dust loose translucent powder over the top.

Repeat the steps depending on your desired effect. These tricks will ensure your lipstick stays in place even as you sip champagne and eat chocolate covered strawberries.

Manicure madness

Amidst dress-picking and fake-tanning, you may forget to schedule your weekly manicure appointment, but fret not, because we have just the solution.

Easy to apply and totally fun, Valentine’s Day themed press-on nails are a great way to take your manicure from drab to fab in a matter of minutes.

Simply select the nail size, peel back the sticky tab (for special occasions) or apply nail glue (for longer wear) and apply to all 10 nails. Press the nails firmly in place, and there you have it, a manicure fit for a queen.

Second day strands

If there’s no time to hit the salon for a wash and blow, let dry shampoo be your best friend. Whether you’re trying to tame greasy locks or attempting to add some volume, dry shampoo is our answer to all hair woes. Simply spray the product 8-10 inches away from your hair, focusing on the scalp area. Brush and tease the product through for voluminous locks that look salon-ready.

Whether you’re heading out on a first date or celebrating with your life-long partner, use these tips and tricks to solve an array of beauty dilemmas. Looking good and feeling great has never been so easy!
