Our Verdict
The moment I uncovered the lid and peeled off the tab, a whiff of floral fragrance immediately escaped. The scent of rich calendula and some kind of fragrant zest was undeniable. I scooped out a teaspoon amount of the gel-like product and was surprised to see that it sufficed the full coverage of my face, and even spilled over to my neck.
Upon application, my face was greeted with a deep cooling sensation that was incredibly assuasive. Although the directions printed on the tub calls for a 5-minute session, I’d received assurance from a Kiehl’s consultant that you can leave it on overnight if you wish to – nothing less than expected from a gentle masque promising to be free from harsh chemicals and noxious ingredients. So, overnight it was!
The next morning, after rinsing the masque off (not that there was much residue left) and washing my face, I was pretty amazed with what I saw in the mirror (complexion-wise, of course). My skin was kissed by a fresh healthy glow and felt rejuvenated from within. It didn’t feel dry at all, like it sometimes would after I cleanse my face. One of the best parts? I struggled to locate my now-minuscule pores. Previously, they were laid bare on my face like an open book. My skin was left with a delightful radiance and felt healthier than ever.
Looks like the calendula is my new favourite flower.
