Risk-Takers: Would you curl your lashes with fire?

updated the 18 December 2015 à 19:19

Using fire to curl your lashes seems absolutely risky but that is what some South Korean ladies are doing to achieve fluttery peepers.

Korean beauty has never failed to impress us. From skincare to makeup, the Korean beauty industry has been revolutionary with the creation of certain products such as the BB cushions and innovative masks. And how can we forget the various tricks that have been unveiled over the last couple of months? Well, here’s another one that has to do with your eyelashes.

Oh and it involves fire – yes you read that right. The practice of using heat to curl your lashes has been on-going for decades among Korean women.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Simply cut off the two ends of your regular Q-tip or even a stick and heat it up with fire. Once heated, use the stick to lift your lashes. You’ll achieve the results of perfectly curled lashes without using a lash curler. The heat from the flame prevents your lashes from drooping and allows your mascara to stay on for longer. Essentially you are creating a perm-like effect and it will last longer than a heated eyelash curler. It is important to ensure that the heat is not directly touching the base of your skin as that may harm your lashes and result in a skin burn.

Many tout this beauty trick to be a life changer but we have our reservations as it’s dealing with fire. All we can advise is to try it at your own risk.

It definitely gives results. However it needs to be done right or you will either end up with curled lashes or no lashes. For now, we’re sticking to our regular eyelash curler.
