Whether you’re heading off on that all-important first date, or celebrating a milestone anniversary with the one – preparing for date night is essential (and fun!).

From superbly silky skin, to locks that will make any girl jealous – here are 8 steps that you should follow before heading out on a romantic escapade.

1 – Get down and dirty

Although not so glamorous, getting in the shower (or bath) is on the top of our to-do list. Go in with a moisturising exfoliator and shave all of those prickly stubs away. Don’t forget to apply a deep-conditioning mask to soften your strands. To save time, why not do your facial cleansing routine in the shower too?

2 – Moisturise to your heart’s content

Give your body the smooth-treatment by dousing yourself in an ultra-indulgent body cream (P.S, we suggest The Body Shop’s body butter in any scent that appeals to you)

3 – Skincare time

Before you start on anything else, go in with your usual skincare regime. Apply your moisturiser, facial mist or serum. This will give the product time to sink in before you apply your makeup.

4 – Prep your Rapunzel locks

Just because you’re going on a date, doesn’t mean you have to take an expensive trip to the salon. With some imagination, come up with a sleek, or seductive hair-do. Our tip: If you’re doing your hair yourself, practice the hairstyle beforehand.

5 – Makeup maven

A romantic night on the town calls for a little more glamour than usual. You can never go wrong with a smokey eye and a nude lip. Feeling a little daring? Why not opt for bronzed-goddess eyes and a bold red lip… sexy!

6 – Barbie doll dress-up

Depending on what type of date you are going on, the LBD (little black dress) is always a winner. Pair it with some fun accessories that feature a pop of colour. Remember to wear the right bra and underwear for the dress. Girls, we don’t want to see panty lines.

7  – Stiletto seduction

Choosing the right shoe for your date is vital. Limping around in painful heels is a major turn off, so opt for something that you know you’ll be comfortable in for a couple of hours (at least!).

8 – Perfume power

Last but not least, choose a perfume that will leave your date wanting more. Opt for a perfume that best represents yourself, and your mood. Our go-to date-night fragrance is Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle.

Now that we have given you the ultimate date night list, go out there, let your hair down, and have fun!
