The wait is over. Now you can feast your eyes on the most anticipated designer collaboration for H&M yet – lots of sportswear ahead!

After what seemed like an endless pursuit to unearth any strand of a hint for Alexander Wang x H&M’s collection, we can safely say, the complete reveal is finally here. Debuted last night at a racetrack-designed runway in New York, the collection was clearly one filled with exclusively performance-inspired designs. Think scuba suits, basketball, diving, boxing and the like. The energy-packed venue definitely got everyone sufficiently pumped up for the collection. Alexander Wang presented his first ever versatile performance wear for H&M where a multitude of technical details and fabrics highlighted both function and fashion. Ideally, his idea was of a wardrobe that could take women from the street to the gym and eventually to the club with one outfit since at this point in time, people only have fitness on their minds. And Wang sure knew that this was the exact trend to capitalise on. Genius. Dominantly in black, white and grey, some of the popular pieces will include quick-dry running tops, perforated laser cut shorts, sports bras, foam-injected sweatshirts, neoprene tops, paneled leggings and compression wear. All of which were boldly emblazoned with blocks of ‘WANG’ or ‘ALEXANDER WANG’ as if to proclaim your undying loyalty to the brand. Beyond apparel, the collection will also see a whole range of accessories – towels, gym bag, yoga mat, sunglasses, keychains, backpacks – and shoes – from killer stiletto boots to casual slippers. Might we add that we were absolutely floored by the boots, absolutely. All in all, by combining form and function with versatility, Alexander Wang, delivered one hard core line up that possibly paves the very imminent future of sportswear-inspired fashion – as long as we stay dedicated to our gym routines. Get your checklist ready and on your game plan sorted, because once they’re gone, they’re gone. In the mean time, how about a quick jaunt to the gym?   The collection will be launching at H&M Orchard Building and H&M ION Orchard on 6 November 2014. Tarandip Kaur
