Suffer no more from painful periods

Are you plagued by pain every month? To get rid of painful periods, discover these natural solutions that effectively relieve cramps.

FREQUENT PAINFUL PERIODS

For one woman in five, the congestion of the womb a few days before the menstruation is translated into significant pain.

THE PHYTOTHERAPY PRESCRIPTION

“The tannins of the Alchemilla boost the production of the progesterone in the second part of the menstrual cycle, which then reduces the premenstrual syndrome”, notes Doctor-Herbalist Eric Lorrain. Swallow a teaspoon of standardised plant extracts from the 14th to the 28th day of the menstrual cycle.

THE HOMEOPATHIC PRESCRIPTION

In case of pelvic cramps, take Magnesia phosphorica 5CH associated with Colocynthis 5CH (3 times a day). “If the pains are stronger upon the arrival of the period, take Folliculinum 9CH, a dose in the 14th day and a dose in the 21th day of the menstrual cycle”, specifies Albert-Claude Quemoun, Pharmacist and Homeopath.

THE FOOD STRATEGY

Consume seeds rich in phyto-œstrogens (linen, sesame, sunflower) to compensate for the hormonal fall. Consume a lot of oily fish (mackerel, sardine), in which omega 3 contributes to the synthesis of hormones. Also, consume more wholegrain cereal and dried vegetables, which are rich in vitamins B1 and B2. A study published in 2011 in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, proved that they significantly reduce the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome.

TIP

The matricaria – or German chamomile – calm the uterine cramps. Take as an infusion (1 tablespoon of dried flowers in 250ml of boiling water) or hot compresss filled with the hot mixture to hold against the stomach.
