Local Talent: Spotlight on musical diva Kit Chan
Just listen to one song by this gorgeous vocalist and you’ll be swept off your feet.
Having debuted at a young age of 21, Kit Chan has evidently made an indelible mark on the successes of the local music industry. Basically, she’s worked extremely hard to reach the stage where she is today – a music goddess. In two decades, she’s released numerous albums, performed in a host of musicals both locally and internationally, and won several awards that truly reflect how great her talent is.
In 1998, Kit became the first solo artiste to perform the Singapore National Day Parade theme song Home, which she co-produced with Dick Lee, and has continued to perform the song in multiple parades since. However, she has chosen 2015, Singapore’s year of golden jubilee, to be the last year she would perform the song as she focuses on her new contract with major Chinese record company Taihe Music Group. This decision marks a very important milestone in Kit’s singing career, as she works with Taihe on her first original solo album in almost 12 years.
Kit Chan is truly a music aficionado and the pride of Singapore, and we will definitely support her in her grand music pursuits. We’re looking forward to what she’ll surprise us with next, but in the meantime, we’ll be putting her songs on loop. Listening to her beautiful voice is truly music to the soul.
